What Causes Burning And Irritation In The Lips And Throat?

Hi Doctor,
I am 47 years old, 5.7' weight 70 kgs, have hypertension. In one of my weak moments I got drunk and ended up with a prostitute giving her cunnilingus. About 10 days later I found my lips burning, my throat was iritating and having constant saliva in my mouth. Have I caught a st infection? What are the chances of HIV. Am very worried and depressed.
Regard- N.G.

thank you for query .The symptoms are non specific and can be due to viral or flu or herpes (if you develop rash)also. This may be due to kiss from the partner or form oral sex or you have contacted it from some other infected person through the respiratory route.
The chances of transmission of HIV by sexual route is 1/ 200 to 1/2000 even if the partner is HIV infected and is almost nil by oral route until there are abrasions or ulcers in the oral cavity.you can take consult your doctor for treatment and investigation if need be.I do not see possibility of HIV.
You can get back for any clarifications with details.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist and venereologist
