What Causes Bump On Tonsils?

Hi, I had tonsillitis and strep about 2 weeks ago. It went away but then after a week I (now) have a common cold. I feel no pain in my throat but now there is a big vein on my right tonsil and a small bump and two smaller bumps on my left tonsil. I just noticed this when I got sick because i looked in my throat to make sure it didn t look like tonsillitis again. I don t use tobacco. I m an 18 year old female. My ENT said they were just tonsil crypts and to gargle with warm salt water, but I m still paranoid it s something worse. I have a cold, but my throat doesn t even hurt anymore I just have a cough and stuffy nose. Should I be worried?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

At your age and with the history of no smoking, it is very very unlikely that it is related to any serious cause.

The associated symptoms of stuffy nose and cough also further decrease the chance that there is any serious related conditions.

It is likely either an acute infection or related to allergies.

I hope this helps
