What Causes Bubble Behind Knee Cap?

It doesn t always hurt, but my right knee cap (also two inches toward inner thigh) feels like there s an air bubble behind it; feels like it is slightly off center or something, not really sure. I played hockey for 12 years so that might explain it...it s a muscle that most people don t have if they don t play hockey...but I m 20 now so hopefully not turning into an old man.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi
Welcome to healhcaremagic
After going through your query I concluded that you may be having meniscus injury as you are young and player. It can be confirmed by MRI scan. Treatment of it is quadriceps exercises and analgesic such as ibuprofen (for pain relief). If not relieved by it then it can require arthroscopic trimming or repair. You can discuss with your doctor about it. Hope your query get answered. If you have any clarification then please don't hesitate to write to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you a good health. Take care.
