What Causes Bruising And Pain In The Thigh?

My daughter got hit in the front, middle of her right thigh about 3 weeks ago. The bruise is pretty much gone but she has a lot of pain when she runs, especially when she sprints to 1st base. She is 16, 5 2 and 112 lbs. She is very fast and her speed is a major part of her game. She went to a message therapist 4 days ago and it really didn t help much. While playing today after trying to beat out a throw she was in the most pain I ve seen her in.

It looks to me that she may have sustained amuscle injury and it is not completely healed and she started playing very early so my recommendation is to take a leave from all these sports and do bed rest. Also apply hot water fomentation and compression bandage. Tablet Brufen will also be useful. If pain is not sub cides or increasing then get a mri of the thigh to see if there is any serious injury.
