What Causes Bruise Feeling On Hip?

A couple weeks ago I noticed a bruise feeling on my left hip. It was tender to the touch. It seemed to go away, and two days ago I noticed the pain again. There are no visible signs of bruising, and I do not recall any trauma to the area. It is tender to the touch, uncomfortable to lay on. I have noticed a slight deep lump in the area and it is slightly warm to touch compared to other areas of my leg. The pain is localized and does not radiate, it is not painful to move my leg or use my muscles (I weight train 3x week). What could this be? Should I have a physician look at it or wait a while to see if it goes away again.
