What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting With Stomach Pain?
I m on mirena, I don t have a full blown period anymore but I have cramps and spotting once a month, but I haven t kept track of when. I know I ovulate because of my discharge. I had unprotected sex on 9/27 and because I m on bc he finished inside of me. The following week I was extremely horny. On 10/2 my back felt as if I had worked out and now on 10/8 my stomach/and feels as if I had worked out along with a brown boogery spotting. Should I be worried?
Hello, Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. The manner in which the Mirena IUD functions is by making the cervical mucus hostile for sperm ascent and also by thinning the endometrial lining thus preventing any successful implantation. The spotting you are experiencing is likely to be the breakthrough often experienced with hormone imbalance. However, since you had the intercourse possibly during your ovulation period, I would suggest a blood test for pregnancy followed by a trans-vaginal sonogram to plan further management. Hope this helps.
