What Causes Brown Vaginal Spotting While On Depo Shot?

Hi. I m on the depo shot. I have been on nine months and my next shot is scheduled for January 12th. I ve experienced a 14 day period with the first shot. On my second shot, I ve been spotting brown/red for about 6 -7 days. I ve noticed this time, the blood has a smell. What could be the cause?

Hi, I think you can have some vaginal infection. So better to consult with your doctor. Get yourself examined. You may need some antibiotics. Spotting and brown discharge can also be a side effect of depo. Hope I have answered your question.
