What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge During Pregnancy?
Hi, I'm 20 weeks pregnant and about a week ago had sex with my husband. A day after I started bleeding. It was only small amount and it was red brown. Day three the discharge was brown and now it's light orange. Do you think I might have an infection? I had some problems with my cervix before my pregnancy. Thank you very much
Hello dear,I understand your concern. In my opinion the cervix becomes soft and increased blood supply during pregnancy. So during the intercourse the cervix might get injured leading to brownish discharge. The blood admixed with mucus might present as brown discharge. As the brownish discharge started after the intercourse it might be mostly cervical bleeding. And as it turned orange it might stop spontaneously. But however it is always better to get examined by your consultant. But nothing to worry about.Avoid physical strain.Avoid intercourse for sometime. Best regards...Dr.Srilatha
