What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Taking Emergency Contraceptive Pills?

Hi! I have used emergency pills few times this month and my period was supposed to come on 14th of August. However, i got my period cramps from yesterday which is 18th August and i got my periods. But the problem is I have brown discharge. For me the first day of periods is like this. But in second day which is today (19th August) I have only brown discharge. It is very common for me to have irregular periods. And yesterday morning before i got cramps i did a home pregnancy test which came out negative. Kindly help me out in this situation.

Hello dear
I understand your concern
Brown vaginal discharge is the stale blood/endometrial tissue that occur due to the hormonal imbalance caused by the emergency contraceptive pill or pregnancy/implantation bleeding.
High chance of the hormonal imbalance as you used ECP several times in the month.
Period is also delayed due to side effects of the ECP.
Pregnancy test will give positive result 8-10 days after the delayed period.
I would suggest to go for pregnancy test again after 3-4 days to rule out the pregnancy.
Take proper rest, avoid stress and eat healthy diet.
Avoid repeated use of the ECP as it cause menstrual irregularity and infertility problem.
