What Causes Brown Vaginal Discharge After Getting A Positive Pregnancy Test?

Hi , my lmp was on July 12 , from July 14-18 , I took fertyl tab . Now on August 16 my hpt shows positive .did a blood test and everything was normal.. Hcg was around 1800 .. Doc told me that I could be around 5 weeks preg. On August 19 from morning brown discharge appears every time when I wipe it out with a tissue. When done an ultra sound , nothing was seen not even sac .. Also I was having fever when discharge started .. What could be wrong
