What Causes Brown Vaginal Bleeding During Pregnancy?

I am 14 weeks pregnant. I experienced bleeding in 10th week which was for some hours but red and then it was brown discharge. Doctor prescribed duphaston medicine two tablets 10 mg twice a day. Experienced spotting since last week again and today v less. It was again brownish. Today I m suffering from severe headache and nausea. Can it be due to medicine?

Hello,

I think headache and nausea can be the side effects of Duphaston. I think you should get an ultrasound done to see feral well-being and to see if there is any obvious cause of bleeding like placental abnormalities or any subchorionic hemorrhage. Take strict bed rest and you can continue Duphaston. Take some antacids like Pantoprazole on an empty stomach to relieve the nausea.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Khushboo Priya
