What Causes Brown Tissues In Bleeding While On IUD?
I m on mirena IUD and I haven t had a period in over a year. Just this past week I started bleeding a little and now I have brown slimy discharge and what looks like chunks of stuff coming out. Maybe like tissue its brown also.. What could this be? Should I be concerned??
Fleshy tissue passing during menstrual bleeding need not concern you.
The uterine lining which is expelled out with the blood during menstruation occasionally gets expelled out in larger sized chunks. It may even cause pain while large chunks are being expelled out. This is called as Membranous dysmenorrhoea.
This entity has nothing to do with Mirena IUD. The incidence usually does not repeat; however if it recurs again, please report to your Gynaecologist. Currently, you do not need any treatment.
I hope this relaxes you.
