What Causes Brown Discharge And Slight Bleeding Before Periods?

Quit taking Ortho Micronor after ovulation, two days ago, mid pack. Brown discharge today and slight bleeding, 8 days before period is scheduled to start. Is this normal? Should I finish off the rest of the pack to postpone an early period and start normal period in 8 days?

Thank you for the question - I would be happy to help.

In answer to your question, yes this is normal. Any time you stop taking hormones, you will likely experience a 'withdrawal' bleed. In all likelihood, you may not have ovulated 2 days ago. If this is the case, then you may not experience a true period for about 4 weeks. I imagine that your bleeding will be somewhat confusing over the next month, so if you are not trying to get pregnant, consider backup protection.

I hope that this helps and good luck!
