What Causes Brown And Pinkish Vaginal Discharge Post Unprotected Sex?

Hi there. My partner and I had unprotected sex on April 20 and I noticed a light brown/pinkish discharge right after, when I was cleaning myself up. At the moment I thought it was just due to the fact that we did it rougher than usual. But the light brown discharge just stopped yesterday, therefore it has been going on for 5 days...and that's when I started getting worried and paranoid. More info: (1)we had unprotected sex the last week of March and he came inside (2) the last day of my period was on April 9 (3) it was one day shorter than usual (4) he came inside me as well during sex on April 20th. Now I'm paranoid that the brown discharge/spotting I experienced could be implantation bleeding... Is this a possibility? Could I be pregnant?

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

No the brown & pink spotting you had should not be implantation bleeding. Implantation bleeding occurs 7-10 days after conceiving which is a week before your next expected period. It also lasts for only 2-3 days.
Therefore the bleeding you had should not be implantation bleeding. However this does not mean you cannot be pregnant. Implantation bleeding occurs in only 30-40% of females who get pregnant & not all of them.
The cause of brown and pinkish vaginal bleeding in you could be bleeding from cervix. Bleeding from cervix could occurs due to rough or vigorous sex as you mentioned. Bleeding from cervix can also be sign of an unhealthy cervix. If you have never undergone a pap smear test to check for cervix health, then you are advised a pap smear test to rule-out cervix abnormality.

Refer to a gynaecologist
Don't worry you would be fine
Hope this information helps
