Hi there,

Since you have removed the offending object (the old tampon) that is helping the infection grow, you will likely recover quite well on your own. The discharge is your body naturally trying to expel the infection from your vagina. Since you are quite well, I would advise you to just watch and see, and seek help if the discharge is lasting more than a day or so. If at any time you feel discomfort or itching or increased discharge then I would advise you to go to the local doctor.

Some people would feel the urge to try and wash it out with a douche, but that is unnecessary, and sometimes even push any infection further up.

Hope this helps, and all the best.

Regards,
Dr. Teh
