What Causes Broken Blood Vessels Under The Tongue?

What had caused what looks like broken blood vessels under my tongue? I ve also keep biting the back right of my tongue for about a week. For some reason I keep sucking on my tongue. My throat is very sore and the glands under my mouth are sore too. Should I wait this out?

Hi dear ,

There is lot of blood supply under the tongue and prominent veins under the tongue is a normal thing . The broken vessel under the tongue is probably due to sucking and biting action , as it get minor injuries or sometimes canker sore occur due to minor injuries . The soreness of throat probably because of viral or bacterial infection . I would suggest you to do hydrogenperoxide rinses mix with equal amount of water for tongue and mouth sores and warl saline gargles for throat . Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain and swelling . It sore throat is because of viral infection then it will go away in few days without infection , but if it doesn't get better then consult ENT specialist .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
