What Causes Breathlessness In Spite Of Taking Symbicort For Pneumonia?

Hi my name is Sharon 54 yr old always healthy female. This past December however I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I received and z pack antibiotic, also an inhaler. Then after that I was prescribed simbacort. Know although I have know cough, no runny nose or chills. I am still experiencing some shortness of breath walking up steps and sometimes walking for a mile. These are some activities that I had know problems with before diagnosis. What is the problem?

Hi, this is Dr. Niroop
I can see your problem and don't worry about this issue.
With the above findings, I can say that you are suffering with Shortness of breath and that is because of pneumonia.
We cant come to a diagnosis just with those symptoms. We should have a Chest X Ray, Blood Cultures , Sputum Cultures.
please update me with those findings if you have.
don't forget to use Antibiotics give by that doctor on time. please finish that course accordingly.
and for your SOB use the inhaler.
Symbicort is a combination used for asthma/SOB.
its a long acting drug. continue using it for relief
