What Causes Breast Tenderness And Vaginal Spotting During Pregnancy?

I'm pregnant 5 weeks now my symptoms of breast tenderness ended a week ago and now I'm spotting. Blood like almost a period after sex. I went to the ER and they saw a normal sac and there was possibly a fetus and said it was too early, they gave me an ultra sound inside the vagina and it made the bleeding a little more. What's going on in still bleeding and this is day two.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As a physician I would like to tell you that mild spotting and bleeding is very common in early pregnancy as it could be due to hormone changes or implantation etc. So you need not to worry about anything. I would also like to tell you that you should wait for 3 to 4 days for it to subside. If still the bleeding does not stop, you should visit your consulting Obgy doctor as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
