What Causes Bowels With Mucus And Foamy Substance?
When I got my period a few days ago I started having problems. Like having to or feeling like I have to go to the bathroom (#2). I go to the bathroom nearly 5-6 times a day. And majority of the time there is only mucus a foamy substance. I have been waking up in the middle of the night with cold sweats and this horrible nauseating feeling. The worst part is that ever since this began, there are moments in the day where I feel like I can t hold it, even if I had just used the bathroom. Please help.

More mucus and formy stool is because of inflammatory or infection condition in intestine like Crohn disease or ulcerative colitis.
Rectal ulcer may cause more mucus in stool and pain.Irritable bowel syndrom may cause this type of symptoms for long time.
Stool examination test is helpful for diagnosis.
Colonoscopy can done for further diagnosis.
