My toddler who is turning 3 next month has had two bouts of tonsillitis in the last year. Not enough for them to take it seriously but for the last year, he has been waking at night (2-3 times) and crying/screaming. He is awake but so upset as he is so tired. He swallows hard and is constantly making funny swallowing sounds when comforted. He usually wants a drink of water and is hard to resettle/fidety/agitated. We are all exhausted from this as it s usually every night. Could his tonsils be too large? and this is causing the problem. He also sweats a lot sometimes and moves constantly when sleeping. I ve been ruling out all things that i think could be causing this and I m fairly sure it is his tonsils. We are emigrating in one month so there is no point in getting a referral to a specialist until we move as there wouldn t be time to do anything is needed. Is there any natural things i can use to help him.
