What Causes Blurred Vision While Suffering From Pre-diabetes?

Hello, I am pre-diabetic and my primary doctor sent me to an opthamologist eye center...to have an exam on my eyes , dialation, etc. I have not had any eye exams in like 45 years so I didn t know what to expect. After the exam, my friend drove me home because my eyes were blurry and the girl who put the drops in my eyes said it would wear off in about 2 hours. Well....I waited for 4 hours,,,,still blurry.....6 hours , still blurry...I was freaking out because I thought something was wrong. I called the person on call at 8 p.m. and they said that my eyes were probably sensitive to the drops......... by 4 a.m. my vision was still blurry. then around 6:30 a.m. today my eyesight came back. Do you think it was the type of drops they used for me, or it was because my eyes are sensitive... I am confused....

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
usually tropicamide is used to dilate pupils for fundus examination . due to dilatation person has blurred vision.its duration of action usually ranges between 3 to 6 hrs.
you need not worry much about blurring due to dilation drops as it is just temporary (3 to 6hrs)
if it lasts more or you have frequent episodes of blurring then you should visit ophthalmologist again
since you are diabetic you shud have petiodic eye examination to rule out diabetic eye disease
