spontaneous cerebral spinal fluid leak began about 2 years ago. 3 blood patches failed. 3 spinal surgeries (05/13, 07/13, 08/13) to patch the leak all failed. Final fourth surgery in 08/13 for 17.5 hours, hardware now in back from C4-T6. Slow healing process but no recurring symptoms until 2 weeks ago. New symptoms include blurry vision, positional headaches that alleviate when lying flat, nausea, pain in the eyes and back of the head. An ICP bolt was placed in the patient s skull to monitor pressure. Lying flat ranges from +4 to +12. Sitting up drops to -6. Standing up drops to -9. Neurosurgeons have concluded cranial hypotension, but there is no sign of a CSF leak on the imaging. Doctors are at a stand-still and don t know where to turn from here. We need help.
