What Causes Bloody Urination After A Cystoscopy?

I just had a cystoscopy to remove a kidney stone on the right side. He did leave a stent behind. The procedure occurred three days ago. I urinated outright blood the first couple of times and now it is just a redish color. My friends who have had this procedure are telling me that my urine color should have returned to normal within 24 hours. I am concerned. I see the doctor again in two days. He wasn't very opened about what to expect. I am a 42 year old male, 6'1'', 225 ;lbs. Is there something wrong or is this normal? I still have pretty constant pain, but it is not unbearable.
