Hello,
Prolonged retching causes small tears in the mucosal lining of the pharynx and upper esophagus. This can result in such spotting of blood in the spit. If it does not recur and is associated with some burning sensation high up in the throat, then it is a tear. This will heal itself and some soothing can be had from cold milk intake. If, however, this persists, you should take the help of your consultant. Please see that she takes small meals at frequent intervals. Plenty of liquids can be had in between meals. Hope this helps.
