What Causes Blood In Urine?

What causes red bright blood in urine? No other symptoms, Not caused by menstrual cycle, no aspirin taken, no pain in kidneys or trauma to area. First time this has ever been seen. Workout regularly, eats healthy and only drinks wine occasionally. Only other symptom is bloated belly but common for me. Should I just wait a day or two to see if blood goes away? Thanks!!

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks m for your query.
Blood in urine has to be taken seriously .
Please consult qualified Urologist for clinical examination andget following basic tests done to find out the cause of bleeding,
1) Routine Urine and culture.
2) Ultrasound scanning of the Abdomen to rule out any mass lesion or urinary stone.
3) May need endoscopic examination of bladder ( Cystoscopy).

Please take antibiotics like Cefotaxime along with Nitrofurantoin twice daily.

Ensure to drink more water to keep your urine dilute.

Further treatment will depend upon final diagnosis.
