What Causes Blood In Urine?

I am experiencing blood in my urine and have an appt with my urologist tomorrow. I have had heavy amounts of blood and throwing a couple of clots in my urine two times within the week, hence, the appt with my dr. tomorrow early am. just wondering if this could be a kidney or bladder issue or simply a tear from prostate pressure...seems to me if I remember there was a small lesion inside from that when I went to the urologist initially..difficult to diagnose over the net..but the amount of blood and the clotting is something new this time around...your thoughts, thanks..tim
