I am currently 23 weeks pregnant. I noticed blood in my urine today. I dont feel bad and can feel my son kicking frequently. I didnt drink a lot of water this morning but just wanted to know if it was something to be terribly concerned about. it seems to go away after a bottle of water or two
Blood in urine may occur from urinary tract infections or from renal stones. I suggest that you get a urine examination and microscopy along with culture for this. An ultrasound examination is also needed to look for stones. An antibiotic may be needed if there is an infection. Please get these done as infections are not good during pregnancy and may cause preterm labor pains. Meanwhile drink plenty of water and try to flush things out of the system. Hope this satisfies your query. Thanks for using HCM. Feel free to ask any more questions that you may have. Dr Madhuri Bagde Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
