What Causes Blood In Stools?

I have recently had an appendicectomy and laparotomy with possibly endometrial deposit behind the pelvic wall. I am now a week post op and am recovering well however I have blood in my stool and when I wipe. This is a small amount however getting worse and the blood is fresh. What could this be?

I read carefully all your concerns and I can say as follows:
Fresh blood in stool is related with hemorrhoids or anal fissure. If you have had constipation than you should avoid it with using plenty of water and stool softener.
