I woke up this morning and used to the bathroom blood in my stool. While I wouldn t be as concerned as I am now the toilet water looked really bloodily. I used the bathroom three other times throughout the day and didn t have to do the number 2 and still have a a lot of blood coming out. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear
I understand your concern
Blood in the stool could be due to the dysentery, inflammatory bowel disease, microscopic colitis, internal piles, constipation.
I would suggests to consult the gastroenetrologist and undergo stool tests, colonoscopy/sigmoidoscopy, stool claprotectin, ESR, CRP and complete blood count.
Treatment will depend on the specific cause.
Drink plenty of water and eat high protein diet.
Hope this may help you
