What Causes Blood In Stool?

Hey there , i recently when do the toilet , and when i was taking a poop blood started coming out , when i wiped by bottom with tissue i was bright red blood , i noticed awhile back that i had one small ball or dot on my anus i searched it up and it looked similar to polyps , i noticed them very long ago, when i was going to the toilet i was a tiny bit constipated , i dont know if this caused something to tear. It started happening yesterday and it happened again today ,i dont know if the tear didnt heal or something . Please help as im worried !

The lesions on the anus could be polyps as you mentioned or they could be external hemorrhoids which is another common cause of bright red blood in the stool.

Polyps may be benign (not cancerous) or cancerous, most are benign.

Other causes would be anal fissure/tear, diverticular disease, bleeding disorder

It would be best to see your doctor for an assessment which would include examination of the abdomen, pr examination and likely a scope to take a look at the colon
