What Causes Blood In Sputum?

I am 30 Yr old, heavy figured male, smoker for more than 15yrs and alcoholic for last 10yrs. I work round the clock in my PC. Recently in the last 4-5months, if I spit my saliva after my daily intake of alcohol and cigarettes, there is blood mixed with my mucus/sit. Is this a serious or normal problem? I m healthy and am unaffected in my daily life by these unknown symptoms. Should I worry? Please give me sincere and strong suggestions on the health matters other than quitting smoking and drinking.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. I can understand. But health is never complete unless you avoid smoking and drinking. There are no alternatives. Some say drinking is better than smoking. But according to medical science, both are equally harmful to many organs alike.

The blood in sputum is a concern if you see it frequently. Once or twice can be easily taken. But if it is frequenting, you must consult a physician for examination and mucous analysis. Please do not hesitate to consult a physician. Take care.

If you still need my assistance in this regard, please use this link. http://goo.gl/aYW2pR. Please remember to describe the whole problem with full detail.

Hope this answers your query. Available for further clarifications.
Good luck.
