What Causes Blood In Saliva?

Hello, I've been having blood in my saliva for a couple of weeks now, not while coughing, just in my saliva, more after brushing my teeth but not exclusively.
I haven't had any head trauma, sour throat or mouth pain\jaw pain and have been using the same toothbrush for several months.
thank you.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain if you find blood in saliva mostly during brushing of tooth it seems that you have infection in the gums known as GINGIVITIS leading to bleeding of gums when the gums gets stimulated during brushing of teeth.

As you find bleeding at other times also it is also due to infection in gums as many a times there is spontaneous bleeding when gums are infected and inflamed..

You need not to worry about it and calm down as the common cause seems to be gum infection in your case..

I would suggest you to consult a dentist and get evaluated and in case gums are infected professional cleaning of gums known as scaling can be done along with a short course of antibiotics and a gum paint for topical application can relieve..

Use antimicrobial mouthwash to gargle after meals.

Use an ultra soft toothbrush to brush your teeth..

Hope your query is solved..
