What Causes Blood Clots In Urine?

Ok so I went to my primary doctor today with symptoms of a UTI I ve been feeling like this for 3 days now. I went to pee yesterday and blood came out with the urine and it burned. They told me I have a UTI today and prescribed me some antibiotics and said they ll call me to let me know what bacteria was found. Now that I m home I went to pee again but this time it wasn t just blood i also passed clots that were pretty painful and this is coming out of the whole the pee comes out of I made sure to check that s where it s coming from cause my period is right around the corner. I don t know what to think at this point I heard it is common to have pee in urine but it shouldn t be visible to the naked eye. But it is very visible.

Hi, to answer your question, if you are a female and have a UTI, you will experience those symptoms. However given that you have clots in the urine means there has been bleeding in the urinary Tract making you prone to pass the infection to the blood, and hence you need to get few blood tests (CBC) and an Ultrasound done to make sure all is well. See a urologist for this soon. Take care & get well soon.
