What Causes Blood-clot Discharge During Periods?

i have recently started using the injection as a form of contraceptive. i didn't start my period when i usually would, but put this down to the injection as the nurse said it could alter my cycle. i have started my period this week and when i have gone to change my tampon, there have been flesh like clots that have come out of my vagina.. i have read some things on forums which suggest it could be my uterus lining? is this correct? should i be concerned that it is an early miscarriage? an there is no possibility of it being linked to an sti/std?

Dear member,
Thanks for writing to healthcare magic.
The inj causes delay in period. So the chances that you are pregnant is rare.
the tissue you are mentioning may be the uterus lining also called endometrial lining. If you are concerned then do a pregnancy test.
It will clarify whether you are pregnant or not.
Thanks
