What Causes Blood Boils Or Pockets On Scalp For Long Duration?

I have had these blood "boils" or pockets on my scalp for a long time...no pain..but I tried lancing one, and it was just blood and puss. it went away..but I have a couple more..wondering if its safe to lance these...and what do you think they are, and what causes them?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain blood boils or bumps on the scalp that released pus on lancing can occur due to causes like :
-Hair follicle infection of Folliculitis.
-Bacterial infection causing Impetigo.
-Allergic reaction causing Contact Dermatitis.
-Heat boils.
-Side effects of medications etc..

Lancing is not safe as it can cause infection and can further worsen the condition..

I would suggest you to consult a Trichologist or Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopic examination of the scrapings from the scalp and blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

You can be advised antibiotics, anti inflammatory medicines, anti allergic medicines and topical application of antibiotic and steroid ointment..
Avoid scratching the bumps to avoid infection..
Wash the scalp every alternate day with a mild shampoo..
Avoid moisture accumulation in the scalp..
