What Causes Blood And Blood Clots In Urine?

My husband has been peeing blood with large blood clots. He had a procedure a couple of weeks ago where they stuck a camera in the urethra and it seemed ok. CAT scan clean. He peed blood twice Sat, then clean. Today 4 times so far. On antibiotic and no blood thinners. I want him to go to the ER because his doctor seems a little lackadaisical. He doesn t want to go. Should I be freaking out?

You should not freak out. If your husband has already had tests looking for causes of bleeding and found nothing alarming then there is nothing to be concerned about. The bleeding could be old bleeding from his procedure or a small bleed inside his bladder. These are not dangerous and will resolve on thier own. I would also recommend that he not take aspirin or any non-steroidal anti-inflammatories like naprosyn or ibuprofen. These medications can also cause bleeding in the bladder
