What Causes Blocking In Ears While Blowing The Nose Hard?
I blew my nose really hard and now it feel like it does when i have ear plugs in. I can hear but sounds muffled in my right ear. When i blow my nose it squeals and feels like air is coming out the ear. I have had a sinus cold over a week now but this happened just yesterday
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain plugged feeling in ears, muffled hearing and also aid coming out of ear while blowing the nose and all this happening after blowing the hard seems to be probably due to perforation in the eardrum due to sudden pressure differences on either sides of the eardrum leading to traumatic injury and rupture of the eardrum..
You should immediately consult an ENT Expert and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Otoscopy, xray etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
If perforation is small a course of antibiotics, anti inflammatory pain killers, decongestant nasal drops and antibiotic eardrops can help.. In case of large perforation surgical correction known as Tympanoplasty can be advised..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
