What Causes Blocked Feeling In Ear Following Sinus Infection?

I’m a 45 year-old male. Two weeks ago I was diagnosed with a sinus infection (and I have had sinus problems in the past). The treatment has involved 14 days of Biaxin, two rounds of Prednisone, and Nasonex. I completed the round of antibiotic. I’m half way through the second round of steroids. I had primarily had headaches and blocked sinuses, both of which have improved. However, I now have what feels like a blockage in my left ear, which has been present for about 10 days. A strange aspect of this situation is that the last two mornings I have felt fine, only to have pressure mount up in my left ear by late afternoon. In addition, the left corner of my lip will become numb and spasm occasionally. These symptoms seem to come and go based on the intensity of the ear pressure, as does some discomfort (feels like numbness) I have that radiates down the left side of my neck as well. Lastly, I had surgery for a herniated disk (L4, L5) about 7 years ago, the injury leaving me with numbness down the side of my left leg and into my foot. My main concern in my ear. Any thoughts?
