What Causes Bloating,flatulence And Indigestion?

Hi, i am 29 and have been taking microgynon for the last 7 years i have been suffering for a while with bloating, flatulence, indigestion and feeling very uncomfortable. I have been to the doctors on numerous occasions and had blood test, scans and various medication however nothing has helped and never had a specific diagnosis. I wanted to query if it could be the contraceptive pill causing this? Thanks

Hi,

Diarrhea, severe abdominal pain, weight loss, and malnutrition, gastritis, bloating and flatulence can be a side effect of oral contraceptive pills. You can ask you gynecologist to consider other options of birth control like intrauterine devices. They will not give you abdominal symptom and are very safe.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ramesh Kumar
