Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. I am a long time smoker and have been trying to quit. I also have M.S. and have been on almost every drug they make for it. I have noticed blisters on the inside of my lower lip for about six months. They don't hurt but I have noticed the first one is bigger and now they are spreading.
Blisters on the inside of the lip that are present since 6 months is not a normal finding..
Normally the blisters or sores in mouth that are caused by common causes like canker sores or viral infection causing fever blisters are cured within 1-2 weeks..
So blisters lasting for about 6 months and even spreading needs evaluation..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical examination should be done. If needed a Biopsy can be done for confirmation..
As of now the first thing that you should do is to stop smoking.. Secondly you can start gargling with warm saline solution.. You should take a multivitamin tablet daily..
Hope this helps.
Regards.
