What Causes Blisters On Hands Of A Pregnant Woman?
My daughter is in her 3rd trimester and in last two days blisters have appeared on her hands (look similar to a fire ant bite, but no ant bites). At her 2 yr olds daycare, they had a child with hand and foot virus or something like it - does this pose a health issue to my pregnant daughter? She will deliver within the next 6 days or csection
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have blisters on hands of a pregnant woman . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like erysipelas , dermatitis herpetiformis or epidermolysis bullosa. The symptoms can also occur due to allergic reaction , hormonal imbalance or low immunity in pregnancy . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , anti inflammatory or recommend surgical excision under local anesthesia. You should avoid use of any hard cosmetics on hands. For now apply cold compresses ,apply petroleum jelly and apply over the counter antibiotics ointment. You should avoid touching or pricking blisters on fingers. Maintain complete hygiene.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
