i have had problems with my bowel since 2007 and have bleeding from my bum aswell i have suffered with fistula abcess and have now had an mri scan of witch i will recieve the results 6th june i need to know if there is anything i should be affraid of
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Since you have problem since 2007, it is definitely a cause of concern ; fistula i ano with bleeding can be due to a chronic condition like Crohn's or tuberculosis hence I would advise you the following: Get the stool checked for three consecutive days. Per-rectal digital examination by a General Surgeon, ano-proctoscopy and get an appointment for colonoscopy. Test of blood and urine. All these will lead to a very proper diagnosis and hence help for the management of the area affected You may need a course of an antibiotic, metronidazole and probiotics. Take laxatives and have Sitz bath in a tub with warm water.
