Hello,
As the sonogram has revealed a sub-chorionic hematoma, which is usually the cause of many early pregnancy hemorrhages, absolute bed rest and observation are the usual guidelines of treatment. Progesterone use is not an absolute necessity. In fact, sometimes it can be harmful as well. In the current scenario, I would suggest absolute bed rest with foot end elevation, avoidance of all strenuous activity including sexual intercourse, good diet and observation for any further bleeding and review sonogram after ten days and go for further medication if situation demands. Hope this helps.
