What Causes Bleeding During Intercourse While On Implanon?
I have the implanon and have so for 6 months now. Everytime I have sex with my partner I bleed either straight away or within the next day. It starts out brown and I can bleed for up to 5 days... This is the 4-5th time it has happened. Should I be worried? I m sick of bleeding after every single time! I m 20, 157cm, 62kgs, female. I have previously been on the pill and never had this issue.

In the current scenario, I would suggest a proper clinical exam to exclude local causes like an erosion of the cervix, polyps of the endometrium or cervix and infections which can be responsible for such post-coital bleeding. Once a definite cause is ruled out, it is possible that the bleeding is being precipitated by the hormone contraception. However, this should not be the issue since post-coital bleeding is not a common side effect and also as you have already been using hormones in the past. Hope this helps.
