What Causes Bleeding Between Periods?

Ok, so we had sex. Sort of.. He stuck his penis inside me for a little bit and pulled out. He thought he didn t come but wasn t sure. Within 10 minutes we left and got emergency contraception. Keep in mind we had sex and I was on my period but it was near the end. Anyways everything was fine until a few days later I started having thick dark blood come out, and today when I wiped it was a lighter colored..
