What Causes Bleeding After Intercourse?

Hi I had an abortion in may and after I took all the pills they gave me I went to the doctor to get a check up and a peps smear and the doctor said every things back to normal so I started having intercourse with my and I started bleeding so do u know what could be wrong

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Bleeding during intercourse or spotting may be due to rough sex, vaginal infection or dryness (lack of lubrication), hormonal imbalance, mental stress, cervical polyp etc.

2) In this case, I suggest you to undergo one Trans Vaginal Ultrasound scan to check for uterine or cervical pathology (if any). It will be worthwhile. Review with test report.

3) Use proper lubrication during sex and maintain genital hygiene. Medicine like Tranexamic acid can be taken to arrest bleeding temporarily.
