What Causes Bleeding After A Waxing The Hair Inside Nose?

My husband waxed some of the hair in his nose. The skin inside the nose got torn, it's raw and bleeds occasionally. He saw a dermatologist and has been applying an antibiotic cream. However, there is still some bleeding. Is there anything else he should do?

Hi,
Thanks for asking to HCM.
Bleeding from Nose is called Epistaxis and is one of the commonest area of bleeding, due to the presence of an arterial plexus in Little's area. As you have mentioned, trauma is the commonest cause and will heal in few days. In case of active bleeding, ask him to elevate the face and pack the nose. Antibiotic cream will help prevent/control infection. Nothing else needs to be done.
Regards,
Dr. Sridhar
