What Causes Blackheads On Both Feet And What Is The Treatment?

Today a family member sent me a pic and have what appears to be blackheads on the heels of both feet. Botu heels are covered in them So my question is what are they and what would be aomw treatments? Oh and how do we prevent it from occurring again? Thanks in advance!

Hi. Welcome to HCM
From your description your relative may have an infection of the foot sole. They may appear as dark spots or pits on the soles but are not likely to be blackheads.
It may be a bacterial infection by Cornebacterium causing the pitted spots.Advise a course of erythromycin 250mg 4 times a day for a week with application of Whitfield's ointment. Keep feet clean and dry and wear footwear.
Another cause maybe plantar warts. If the spots do not resolve with the above treatment, You can see a dermatologist to rule out warts or to test for fungal infections.
Avoid tight footwear, synthetic socks, etc which cause increased sweating.
Keep a check for similar lesion elsewhere.
