What Causes Black Stool While On Amoxicillin And Metronidazole?

I had a miscarriage a week ago and l had my womb cleaned. For a week now l have been taking Amoxyline,Metronidazole,Ranferon and Control Pills for the. First time. Last night l had black stool should this be caused by the medication I m taking or its a serious concern. Had history of stomach ulcer but never had black stool. Mercy

thank you for asking your concern madam. the drugs you are taking out of which ranferon causes black stool as it contains iron. there is not need to worry about black stool as such now because you are taking iron. yes stomach ulcer some time can cause black stools. few things i would like to suggest for you one is wait till you stop your iron tablets as prescribed by your physician. after completing this treatment you can take a dose of albnedazole one tablet only or mebendaazole one tab two times a day for 3 days. worms can also cause black stools. if still you see black color stool then it will be good to consult your doctor. if you feel any query please ask freely.
