What Causes Black Stool After Using Otrivine Nasal Spray And Nurofen?

Hi, I have been suffering from sinus pain for over two weeks now. I started to take otrivine nasal spray and nurofen. It helps a little but as soon as the medicine wears off I am back to pain again. The pain just seems to be moving around from day to day. Head, ears, teach ... I also had a black stool today all day could this be from the medication? Should I see a doctor and ask for antibiotics?

Hi,
It seems that using of Neurofen for long time might produce gastritis and even gastric ulcer.
So having this problem there might be having bleeding from gastric mucosa giving rise black stool.
Stop taking any analgesic including neurophen.
Take Omeprazole or Rantac.
Consult gastroenterologist and get examined.
Stool test for occult blood,Ultra sound or gastroscopy will give exact clue about your problem.
Take milk diet.
Ok and take care.
